This case has been dragging for so long now that any development has seemingly become so far-fetched to the minds in the relatives of the victims.
Adding insult to injury is the fact that the ampatuan clan are once again gaining ground in the political scene. That could destabilize any momentum the case has built since the start of its prosecution of those involved, esp. the ampatuans.

It looks like they are just sitting on their butts on this case, giving too much attention with the technicalities, rather than focusing on what needs to be done in enforcing due justice to those who are victims of these heinous crime.
